Armin Brinzing/ Director, Bibliotheca Mozartiana

Armin Brinzing was born in Künzelsau, Germany in 1963. He studied musicology, history and German literature, receiving his doctorate in Musicology at the University of Göttingen. Before coming to Salzburg, he was head of the German office of The International Inventory of Musical Sources – Répertoire International des Sources Musicales (RISM) – at the Bavarian State Library in Munich. Since 2011, he has been the director of the library at the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg, the world’s largest library specializing in Mozart, which contains writings about Mozart, in addition to modern and historical editions of Mozart’s works. Brinzing is also curator of the Mozarteum Foundation’s important collection of autograph manuscripts by Mozart and the Mozart family.
