Dr. Gabriele Ramsauer was born in Salzburg in 1961. She studied art history and received her doctorate at the University of Salzburg. Before coming to the Mozarteum Foundation, Ramsauer was at the State Office of Museum Services in Baden Württemberg and the City Archives at Ravensburg. In 1990 she was appointed as head of the Mozart archive at the Mozarteum Foundation Salzburg, and in 1998 was named director of museums for the Mozarteum, with responsibility for numerous exhibitions and special projects, and management of the Mozarteum’s museums including the house where Mozart was born and the Mozart family’s residence.
